We look forward to the month of July, having designated it as “Family Month,” a time for a special focus on your family. Whether it be with your immediate or extended family, living with you or not, everyone is invited to find meaning in Family Month. We have encouraged all wards and stake organizations to keep July free of weekly activities, camps, etc. and to limit meetings to essential meetings only. Our hope is this will provide you and your family opportunities to grow closer to your Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Elder L. Tom Perry said, “It is more important than ever to make our families the center of our lives and the top of our priorities. Families lie at the center of our Heavenly Father’s plan.” (April 2003 General Conference, “Importance of the Family”) In the month of July,
we hope to continue to unleash the power of the family. We encourage members to make your homes a place of spiritual strength and joy, where you can invite the Spirit of the Lord into your homes through simple efforts. Every home can be a “house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God” (Doctrine and Covenants 88:119).
